Nestlé for Healthier Kids Super-Chef Family Cooking 2022 Competition

Calling for parents and Grade 4 students to participate in a fun cooking competition to encourage healthier eating habits. Applicants are invited to submit a healthy recipe by 31st August 2022.

Parents and Grade 4 students get cooking! Nestlé brings back the Super-Chef Family cooking competition to engage children to participate in meal preparation and encourage healthier eating habits. The registration for the fourth edition of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids Super-Chef Family cooking competition is now open with the submission deadline set for the 31st of August 2022. The Nestlé for Healthier Kids Super-Chef Family Cooking Competition is organised in collaboration with the Mauritius Institute of Education and the Mauritius Chefs Association. The winning duo of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids Super-Chef Family Cooking Competition 2022 will win a weekend-stay for 4 at the Beachcomber Shandrani Resort & Spa. The first and second runner-up duos will win a 1-day package for 4 and a lunch for 4 at the Beachcomber Shandrani Resort & Spa respectively.

Gordon Perrins, Nestlé's Business Development Manager for Mauritius, and Seychelles comments, “We are pleased to kickstart the fourth edition of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids Super-Chef Family Cooking Competition. Involving our kids in the preparation of meals is important to foster healthy eating habits and family bonding. it’s a concept that lies at the core of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative and we are proud to be the flagbearers for better eating habits by accompanying children and parents through the different stages of childhood.” 

The Contest is open to any parent who has a child in Grade 4 in Primary Schools (State/Government and Private-Aided) in Mauritius. To participate, the parent-child duos are invited to submit one recipe of a healthy, tasty, and low-cost school lunch. The recipe should be made up of a filling used in a bread, ‘roti’ (farata) or a wrap. The recipe needs to be devised for 2 portions of 120g each (as guidance) and made of local foods. 

Pre-selection of submitted recipes for semi-finals will be based on pre-set criteria by a Jury Panel and the top 20 recipes will be selected for the semi-finals set for September 2022. The semi-finalists will be required to bring the prepared dish from the recipe submitted, on site for sensory evaluation and selection. For the final round, participants will be required to prepare their recipes onsite set for beginning of October
