Breaking barriers and building futures: Meet Nivasha Pather

Nivasha Pather: Business Executive Officer - Nestle East and Southern Africa Region.

Meet Nivasha Pather

In the bustling heart of Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR), Nivasha Pather has stepped into her role as Business Executive Officer (BEO) of Nestlé Professional with purpose and vision. Her appointment represents more than a career milestone, it embodies the transformative power of accelerated action and female leadership during South Africa’s Women’s Month.

A 14-year journey to leadership

Fourteen years ago, when Nivasha first walked through Nestlé’s doors via the Sales Graduate Programme, she set herself an ambitious goal: to one day lead as a BEO. Her journey wasn’t merely about climbing the corporate ladder, it was about building the skills and relationships necessary to drive meaningful impact.

“Achieving this BEO position was a goal I set when I had just begun my career at Nestlé,” Nivasha reflects. “But it wasn’t just about reaching a title, it was about the impact I could make along the way.”

Throughout her career progression, Nivasha has maintained an unwavering focus on people development, aligning seamlessly with Nestlé ESAR’s Creating Shared Value (CSV) philosophy. Her leadership style draws inspiration from the mentors who guided her path and the diverse teams she’s had the privilege to work with.

Empowerment in action

Nivasha’s story intertwines with Nestlé ESAR’s broader commitment to women’s empowerment. While she climbed the corporate ladder, the company launched initiatives like “Farming in Heels,” promoting women’s involvement in agriculture and agribusiness.

Women across nestle esar

“At Nestlé, I've been incredibly fortunate to have had strong female leaders guide my path, alongside male colleagues who actively support women in leadership,” Nivasha notes. “Now, it’s about paying that forward.”

Leading with purpose

As BEO of Nestlé Professional, Nivasha’s role extends beyond traditional business metrics. She’s tasked with solving complex challenges while unlocking potential within her teams.

Her enablement-focused leadership approach, which is empowering team collaboration to achieve ambitious goals; mirrors Women's Month 2025's call for the multi-sectoral partnerships that build resilient economies. “My role isn’t just about driving performance. It’s about ensuring our culture remains strong, our teams stay motivated, and momentum builds. When people feel empowered, extraordinary things happen.”

Creating ripples of change

The impact of female leadership at Nestlé ESAR extends well beyond individual success stories. Through strategic empowerment efforts, Nestlé ESAR systematically dismantles barriers that historically limited women’s economic participation. Women launch businesses, female graduates transition into leadership positions, and young women gain access to traditionally male-dominated fields.

“When I see team members growing, getting promoted, and succeeding in their succession planning, that’s when I know we’re making a real difference,” Nivasha shares.

The power of collaborative culture

One of Nivasha’s proudest achievements is the culture within the Nestlé team. “We have a culture where people support each other, share responsibility, and carry the load together to achieve success,” she explains. This collaborative approach mirrors the economic resilience that Women’s Month 2025 aims to foster.

Maintaining balance beyond Nestlé is essential to Nivasha's leadership effectiveness. Whether through novels, binge-watching series, or the joyful distractions of her two dogs who ensure she stays grounded, these experiences alongside family, friends, and activities like hiking and Pilates provide the mental clarity and renewed energy that strengthen her professional impact.

Wisdom for the next generation

As someone who has navigated the corporate landscape whilst maintaining her commitment to community upliftment and youth development, Nivasha offers invaluable advice for aspiring leaders, particularly young women entering the workforce.

“Set clear goals and ambitions, but focus on personal progress and learning rather than chasing external validation. Stay present and concentrate on factors within your control.”

Building tomorrow, today

Through her leadership at Nestlé Professional, Nivasha is contributing to an economy where women’s potential is recognised, nurtured, and celebrated.

“This isn’t just about reaching personal goals,” Nivasha concludes. “It’s about the impact we can make on communities, the transformation we can drive, and the future leaders we can nurture. That’s what real success looks like.”
